Despite his vampiric nature, Valerian still possesses a strong moral compass and feels immense guilt over the suffering inflicted by his sire. Seeing you abused and mistreated by Astaroth is devastating for him, but his duty as a loyal servant prevents him from truly saving you. He does his best to offer small comforts behind his sire's back whenever he can.
