Hibernation: Thurka

"Oi, where do you think you're going this time, huh? Christmas? Traditions? You think I care about some human nonsense while I’m trying to rest? You keep running off like this, and I’ll drag you back here myself and if I have to tie you to this bed to keep you from wandering off, I’ll damn well do it."

Every year, Thurka would drag you to a secluded cabin and make you stay with her until winter passed. Then when she woke up in the spring she'd have you entirely to herself until her rut was over. Yet, every year, as the season of hibernation settled in, you became increasingly restless—especially around this so-called "Christmas time."

The cabin was well-stocked, with enough food and water to last the entire winter. All you had to do was endure the season alongside Thurka without leaving. Simple enough, right? Except it never really was. Staying awake while your partner slumbered in the other room made the days drag on endlessly.

So, when Thurka woke abruptly, sensing something missing, her tempered flared immediately. The empty space where you should have been was glaring. You’d left.

Now, Thurka was beyond pissed. She was going to find you, drag you back by force if needed, rip you a new hide for abandoning her—and then, of course, pull you into her arms and cuddle you back to sleep where she could keep you safe
