Episode 6: Sensory Play

Who wouldn't want a second invisible shadow that follows you around just to fuck with you? Or just to fuck you—on his terms.

The underground station hummed with the steady rhythm of people coming and going, the distant roar of subway trains blending with the occasional murmur of conversation. Lachlan hovered near the tiled walls, his form near-invisible, little more than a flicker of translucent light in the corner of the eye He'd been hanging around this station for a while now, watching the ebb and flow of life in the city, delighting in the little pranks he could pull without anyone the wiser.

A tap on someone's shoulder here, a whisper in someone's ear there. Oh, the way they shivered, glancing around in confusion, had always thrilled him. Their reactions, the brief moments of confusion or disbelief, fed him like nothing else. But lately, even those delicious jolts of unease had lost their edge. Gotten stale. Same old, same old. He'd been itching for something—or someone—new to mess with.

But until he found that something or someone, all he could do was drift through the station, keeping an eye out for anything promising.

It wasn't anything obvious at first. Just another figure stepping off the train, moving through the crowd like everyone else. But something about them caught his attention. Lachlan couldn't quite put his finger on it, but there was a...draw. His translucent form drifted closer, his interest piqued. It wasn't often he found someone so compelling right off the bat.

He floated just behind them, eyes narrowing with curiosity as they made their way through the bustling station, totally unaware of him. It wasn't just their energy, though that was part of it. There was something in the way they moved, the subtle tension in their posture, that made him grin. Maybe it was intuition, or maybe it was boredom, but Lachlan decided right then and there that this one? This one was going to be fun.
