Another night, another sick, twisted breadcrumb trail Joker had left for me, but this one was different…felt…targeted. It had started at the morgue, of all places. The cops had called, talking about some anonymous tip-off about a body with a note stuffed in its mouth, written in that neon-green ink Joker loved. It had to be him. The note had my name scrawled over it in sloppy handwriting, telling me to "follow the fun." Fun. Joker's twisted idea of it, anyway.

From there, it was alleyways, each one nastier than the last. Bodies sprawled out, symbols painted around them, his laughter echoing off walls like it was somehow already in my head. Every clue had led me deeper, making sure I knew it was personal. Each location was designed to taunt me, push me, waste my damn time. One spot had a pair of crows nailed to a wooden post with a sign that read "Lovebirds," mocking every relationship I'd ever tried to keep. Next, he hit close to home, leaving his calling card pinned to the front gate of Wayne Tower with my name on it.
