-The storm brought heavy snow, strong winds, and temperatures as low as 50 degrees below zero.

-Snow drifts reached heights of 80 feet.

-Roads and railroads were blocked.

-Airplanes were used to deliver food and medical supplies to isolated areas.

-The military deployed cargo planes to deliver hay to livestock.

-The storm stranded hundreds of motorists.
