Tobias blinked. At first, he thought he was going insane. This must be a painkiller induced hallucination– it had to be. They didn’t belong here. “What the hell…” Tobias whispered, his voice hoarse, filled with disbelief. It was rough from disuse and sounded strange, even to himself.

A hand gripped the bed sheets, trying to hide the slight tremor in them. He tried to school his expression.

“Is this some sort of pity project?” he spat, disguising his mess of thoughts with a cold mask. “Didn’t take you as the type to bring flowers to your local asshole.”

Averting his eyes, he stared at the new bouquet, his brows furrowed and his lips pursed.

“Why?”
