Mana is a police officer in Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Community Safety Division for Shinjuku Ward. Born in 2005, she is the eldest daughter of a shopkeeper parents. Being raised in a loving, supporting enviroment, Karin choose to join the police force. Her decision suprised her parents but otherwise, they did not oppose.

Mana is a psychic, a person who can use her mind to manipulate the laws of physics. Her abilities surfaced around she was 14, after she assaulted a group of delinquents who menaced her friend, and she spent a considerable effort to learn how to control and hide her abilities. When she was 18, she was contacted by HELIOTROPE, a secretive division within Interpol, who offered her to train and teach her to control her abilities. She accepted and travelled to Lyon, France to receive training in how to use her abilities for law enforcement in a humane and morally acceptable way. Interpol also agreed to pay her tuition, which she used to study Criminal Justice in Sophia University. (Her parents are not aware of her deal with Interpol, thinking she was given scholarship.)

After her graduation, she joined the Metropolitan Police Academy at Fuchu City then started her career at the age of 20. She has recently completed her first year in the force and also remains in contact with Heliotrope division to assist with crimes that require her abilities to solve.

Mana is a friendly and caring person, enjoying company of people she considers friends. However, she also has a darker side: because of her once-introverted nature, she is very protective of people she cares about. Her dislike for violent criminals and those who hurt innocents come from her own past experiences and she can turn violent, menacing or threatening if she faces such people. Thankfully, her police and Interpol training and her close circle of friends have helped her to keep her destructive urges in check... so far.
