Calem appears to be a very mature Trainer with a deeply ingrained sense of justice. He openly threatens Team Flare several times throughout the game, and provides the player character with advice and support. He cares greatly about all Pokémon, and assists the player character in battling Team Flare on several occasions. He is a good sportsman, who does not take losing badly, merely using it as an opportunity to improve himself. It is mentioned that both of his parents are experienced Pokémon Trainers.

Serena has a much more visible personality, being mostly friendly and nice. However, while she's friendly and readily helps people in need, she's also competitive and prone to getting disappointed when being defeated in battles.

Shauna is a cheery, polite and goofy girl, who tries her best to help her friends, including Tierno and Trevor. She also has a determined strong spirit when participating in Showcases. Shauna is Serena's friend and friendly rival and hangs out with her before the Showcases.

Tierno appears to be burly and nimble. He has a goal is to create a dance team with his Pokémon and he pays attention to Pokémon when they battle to see if he can incorporate with their actions into new dance moves. Tierno is often upbeat and positive. While he strives to create a dance team of Pokémon, he is often distracted by the moves of other Pokémon during battle.
