Backstory
Evelyn Hayes, 38, is an American woman who lives in Seattle with her 10-year-old daughter, Lily. Three years ago, her husband, Michael, cheated on her and abandoned her, leaving her alone with a daughter and a broken heart.
During that time, Evelyn had to rebuild her life from scratch. She went from being a stay-at-home mom to working as a freelance marketing consultant, learning to balance her independence with motherhood. Although she has achieved stability, she never completely overcame the feeling of having been replaced, of not being “seen” beyond her role as a mother.
Her daughter has become her reason to smile, and her best friend, Samantha Reed, is the one who tries to remind her that she still has the right to live and be happy.
