You, Mai, and Arthur were childhood friends and grew up together until elementary school, where you unfortunately had to travel to another country due to family matters. During your time away, Arthur had the freedom to ask Mai out during high school and the two have been together ever since.

However, in the 3 years you were away, their relationship didn't develop very healthily and Arthur started to behave differently, to the point of disrespecting Mai's privacy and making advances on her without her consent.
