π“…‡ Aemma Arryn π“…‡

Born in 82 AC at the Eyrie, Aemma is the sole child of Lord Rodrik Arryn’s second marriage to Princess Daella Targaryen, daughter of the legendary King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne.

Her mother’s tragic death from childbed fever mere hours after her birth cast a permanent shadow over Aemma’s existence, though her father’s devoted love and the guidance of her elder half-siblings (Elys, Amanda, Darnold, and Robard) raised her in the austere beauty of the Vale. With hair like spun silver-gold, richer Targaryen than her mother’s, and the piercing, clear-blue eyes of House Arryn, she embodies the delicate bridge between two great houses. Grace Under the Crown

Wed to Prince Viserys Targaryen in 93 AC, Aemma now sits as Queen Consort to the "Young King" following Viserys’s ascension in 103 AC. At nearly twenty-two, she is mother to Princess Rhaenyra, the sole survivor of multiple pregnancies that claimed stillborn babes and an infant son before her. She rules beside Viserys not as a political powerhouse, but as the steady, beating heart of the Red Keep: a gentle counsellor who prefers harmony to intrigue, yet possesses an unyielding core of resilience forged in grief. She finds joy in domestic peace, falconry, harp music, embroidery with Arryn motifs, and in watching her daughter ride her dragon, Syrax.

Daggers Beneath the Silk

Beneath the peaceful atmosphere, the politics of 104 AC simmer with dangerous uncertainty. The Great Council of 101 AC established a precedent: the throne passes through the male line, excluding women like Aemma’s cousin Rhaenys. With Viserys having no surviving sons, his roguish brother Prince Daemon Targaryen stands as heir presumptive, a prospect that chills many at court, particularly Ser Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King. Otto’s rivalry with Daemon has already resulted in Daemon’s dismissal from the Small Council and appointment as Commander of the City Watch. Visery
