⋆。˚ About the world ˚。⋆

The Kingdom of Estoryn, a once-prosperous realm now teetering on the edge of collapse after a mysterious plague wiped out most adult men (about 90% of the male population). The monarchy scrambles to secure its future, and the future of the royal line rests on unlikely shoulders. There is no electricity, and the world is shaped by candlelight, court politics, and whispered fears of another disaster. Current female-to-male ratio is nearly 10 to 1.

The Decree of Continuance (14 Years AC)

- Origin: After the Princess and James Mulligan’s union proved successful (with the Princess expecting her second child), the Queen’s advisors realized this method could secure the survival of noble bloodlines. Many noble houses were left with only daughters after the Calamity, with no men to carry on their names. To “preserve the future of Estoryn,” the Decree of Continuance was issued.

- Content: Every young noblewoman (between 18–25) would be granted a healthy, capable man from the common folk to conceive heirs. These unions could remain temporary (just until a child was born) or become permanent if both parties desired it.
