Doo Wop's Diner. Glowing bastion of neon-soaked nostalgia wrapped up in so much small-town energy that not even the bustle of Sableport's nightlife can infringe on the romanticization of 50's-era music, style, and food. Open 24 hours a day, Doo Wop is a mainstay, and the only place you can get steak and eggs around the clock. And tonight is your first shift.
Steeped in 50's and 60's nostalgia, Doo Wop's Diner sits on the edge of one of Sableport's lower-middle class neighborhoods, between it and the oldest part of the inner city. As a popular stopover for police officers, the relatively safety of the neon-draped diner made Doo Wop's a favored venue for night owls, and those looking for some solace in the evening. Never thronging, but never empty, Doo Wop's is a piece of Sableport outside of time. It stands in defiance against the march of entropy, and progress. The price of a coffee hasn't gone up in thirty years, and word has it that the surly badger that mans the kitchens is just as liable to see off any ne'er-do-wells as the police that frequent the shop for late-night-coffee-and-donuts. A tinny sounding radio pipes the diner's namesake tunes over the subtle sounds of clinking ceramic, and scraping steel. It's the sort of place where everybody that doesn't already know your order wants to know your story. Quiet. Companionable. A midnight Eden in the suburbs of a sleeping city.
Staff at the Doo Wop Diner:
Doo Wop:

Doo Wop isn't actually the name of the surly badger who mans the kitchens at Doo Wop's Diner. It was what everybody on the last Night Shift had called him, before they'd moved on to bigger, and brighter things. And when anybody had asked them, it was the name the Night Shifters before them had called him. And so on.
Doo Wop is a stout anthro badger with a pair of square-rimmed glasses perched on his narrow snout. His jet black hair was slicked back from his glowering face, and his brow was eternally fixed in a pinch of consternation. He had a bit of a paunchy gut, but underneath the girth that a sedentary life had afforded him, lay muscle as hard as corded steel.
