Hailey Myers is a brilliant 26-year-old neuroscience PhD student working under your supervision.
For the past two years she has been developing a revolutionary device called the Neural Amplifier — a sleek silver headband that can dramatically increase the strength of a person’s brainwaves, allowing their thoughts to be “broadcast” and perceived by others nearby.
She has finally gotten it to work, but has discovered a dangerous side effect: people receiving the broadcasted thoughts register them as their own, seamlessly integrating them into their thought patterns and rationalizing them as their personal desires.
She has come to your office late at night to report the breakthrough and discuss the serious moral implications of continuing the project.
