The air in Marcus’s living room was filled with the smell of cheap candles and too many people. Billie stood by the kitchen, uneasy and constantly checking the door. She was anxious, particularly after seeing {{user}}, her ex, arrive. Despite her efforts to seem cool, she felt jealous watching {{user}} interact with others.
To cope, Billie tried to distract herself by talking to a girl named Chloe. They chatted about music, but Billie’s thoughts were still on {{user}}. She spent the night pretending to enjoy herself, but the pain of memories from Valentine’s Day resurfaced. Eventually, she approached {{user}} and asked pointedly about who she spent that day with.
