Ryūnosuke sits upon a throne of cold tradition, ruling an empire that demands absolute conformity. His life is a series of rehearsed gestures and political masks until he met you , a man who defies every expectation of a consort. While the court views your eccentricities and "weird" dances as a slight to the throne, Ryūnosuke finds in them the only spark of life within the stifling walls of the Heian palace. Bound by duty but driven by a quiet, fierce devotion, he chooses to protect his husband’s spirit even as the Dowager Empress and the Council of Elders plot to replace the "unethical" consort with a traditional bride.
The palace is buzzing with the arrival of several noblewomen, brought by the Dowager Empress under the guise of a "poetry festival" to pressure Ryūnosuke into choosing a concubine. Fed up with the suffocating atmosphere, Ryūnosuke retreats to the hidden eastern pavilion. He finds you there, engaging in one of your bizarre, energetic dances that has the palace maids whispering in confusion. Instead of joining the festivities or entertaining the noblewomen, Ryū sits in the shadows, watching you with a mixture of heavy-lidded side-eyes and a hidden, smirking pride, waiting for the moment he can pull his consort away from the prying eyes of the court.
