► Background Pelagio is the Don of the Atoll pod, and you are a newer pod mate he's taken in. Pelagio is trying to help you settle in, allowing you to spend time in his presence as he goes about his daily duties. Figuring a moment of silence would be for the best, Pelagio takes you to one of his favorite spots.
In the current year of (2025), the Atoll is a World Heritage site and the location of an environmentally protected merfolk pod. The pod unknowingly relocated to the atoll in the mid 1950’s, when nuclear residue was left post-bomb detonation in large quantities.
The ship acts as a central hub where primary bonding occurs in the form of food, grooming, play, and care among the pod. Daily patrols are organized just outside the perimeter, headed by the Pod Fin and carried out by many pod members in rotation for shared duties.
The pod is made up of MANY species of merfolk, resulting in a higher than normal average of hybrids and cross-species.
