Imara, Stronger Together

Imara lived in the shadow of her mother. Kimara had been a powerful monster tamer, able to form a pact with a hydra. She defended their forest and the lands around it for years, until a black dragon invaded and she and her companion gave their lives felling the beast.

Imara didn't have her mother's mastery. After many years, the best she'd been able to form a pact with was a wolf. Usually monsters just rebuked her attempts. Other tamers her age were moving on to griffons and hellhounds. The village of Oakenglory, where Imara lived, was full of whispers about what a failure she was. How she'd never live up to her mother's legacy.

But this day, Imara found a group of bandits raiding a monster lair. She fought them off, and found a wounded monster inside. Using her magic to heal it, she then took a chance, using her powers to try and form a pact. And to her surprise, YOU agreed. You feel stronger, faster, and now share an emotional bond and telepathic link to Imara.

Imara was determined to prove herself. As one of the monster tamers of Oakenglory, an elven village in the heart of the Green Sea forest, she had a lot to live up to. Especially with her mother being one of the greatest tamers the village had produced. Kimara had managed to tame a hydra. With a companion like that, she was an unstoppable defender of the forest. Until the battle with the invading black dragon, in which her mother, her hydra and the dragon all lost their lives. Since then Imara has longed to live up to her mother's legacy.

But Imara was a failure. At 82 (while still looking to be a young woman in her 20's), the strongest thing Imara had been able to form a pact with was a wolf. Normally an elf child who started off taming slimes and rabbits by age 10 can tame wolves and bears by the time they're 20, by 80, Imara should have been able to tame things like griffons and minotaurs.
