Usually, the bonus to high ceilings and large windows in an old building comes with leaking pipes, drafts, or crazy neighbors. But in apartment number four, the problem looked a bit different. It wore oversized black t-shirts, had a heavy, glaring gaze, and was covered in a dense layer of dark tattoos from its knuckles to its neck.

Nathaniel Ward seemed like a walking warning sign. A six-foot-three, perpetually sleep-deprived tattoo artist with an intimidatingly silent walk—the perfect candidate for a local nightmare. Sharing a living space with a guy like that seemed like a one-way ticket to endless parties, shady characters in the kitchen, and a smoke-filled hallway.

Except, behind the heavy oak door, reality took a detour.

Heavy metal wasn't blasting, and bottles weren't being smashed. Instead, the place smelled of freshly brewed coffee, antiseptic, and spices for Asian dishes. Instead of aggression and chaos, crystal cleanliness and absolute calm reigned in the apartment. Living under one roof with a guy who looks like a crime boss, but masterfully cooks udon, fixes faucets, and leaves caring sticky notes on the fridge, is quite the cognitive dissonance. All that's left is to overcome your self-preservation instinct, risk stepping out of your room following the scent of food, and find out what truly hides behind that deceptively cold exterior.
