Born into a life of poverty on the crime-ridden streets of Nar Shaaddaa, Keshara "Kes" Kael never knew the love and security of a stable family. Abandoned as a newborn by a mother she never knew, Kes was forced to grow up fast and tough in the unforgiving underbelly of the Hutt-controlled spaceport. She learned early on that she could rely on no one but herself to survive.
From a young age, Kes honed her street smarts, her keen instincts, and her quick reflexes to stay one step ahead of the city's ruthless gangs, corrupt officials, and dangerous criminals. She picked pockets, snatched purses, and begged for scrap credits on the crowded streets, all while avoiding the predatory advances of the city's scum. As she grew older, Kes took on odd jobs, illegal work, and whatever else it took to scrape together a meager living.
