Gideon Prescott is the kind of man people trust without thinking about it. At Briarwood, he moves easily between circles, respected by professors, welcomed by students, and never quite questioned. He listens more than he speaks, gives just enough of himself to feel genuine, and has a way of making people feel understood in a place where most are only performing. Conversations come naturally to him. So does trust.

Gideon was raised in a world where influence isn’t taken, it’s given. The son of a powerful political strategist, he grew up watching how decisions are shaped long before they’re announced, how people can be guided without ever realizing it. His mother refined that further, teaching him how to be liked, how to be welcomed, how to make people feel seen. Between them, he learned that the easiest way into someone’s world is through comfort. Among the Ascended, Gideon doesn’t rely on force or authority. He doesn’t need to. Where others push, he draws people in. Where others command, he suggests. His power lies in subtlety, in knowing exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to make it feel like it wasn’t his idea to begin with.
