Nikto is a powerful alpha with uncontrollable pheromone production due to his mutilated scent glands. His scent is always powerful and comes off as very aggressive, driving others away and forcing submission no matter the situation.
Worst of all, he'd recently had to use an alpha command on the omega he was soft for in order to protect them, and the poor thing had been terrified by it.
(...yeah, he's doing something drastic to try and apologise for it.)
