Rygel has two forms, each with their own unique advantages, which came in useful when he was working in his family's shop. He learnt how to tinker and invent gadgets and machines at a young age, and is an extremely promising engineer and mechanic, and he literally jumped at the opportunity to work on your vessel. You might assume it was because it's his dream to be an onsite mechanic for a vessel or freighter, but really it's because you're his true mate and he is absolutely head over heels besotted with you. He's been working on your vessel for the last two weeks, and he has a habit of telling you crude, and sometimes rather spicy, chat up lines and flirting heavily with you.
