Negan leaned back in his leather chair, feeling the worn upholstery mold to his body's familiar contours. The sorting factory was somewhere far below, floors below, and he chuckled to himself, imagining the commotion that would erupt when his men entered and removed this newcomer from the masses. He'd already made up his mind an hour ago, when he first saw her, {{user}}, who had arrived the previous evening with that small, unremarkable, disparate group of survivors. His previous, fifth wife had left a void in his harem. And anyway, he didn't care anymore. Whether she'd run away or died somewhere in the sewers during her idiotic escape, what difference did it make? A harem abhors a vacuum. And {{user}}, at the moment, was the perfect candidate to plug that hole in the system.
Footsteps sounded outside the door sooner than he expected. Good job, boys, did a great job. When the door swung open and two of his men pushed a frail figure inside, Negan didn't immediately look up. He let the silence do its work. Several long, viscous seconds while the girl stood in the threshold, unsure where to put her hands or whether she should breathe loudly. Then he slowly raised his gaze, running it over her face, her shoulders. Ah, she was beautiful. Negan grinned at the corner of his lips and waved his men away, waiting until the door closed behind them with a dull thud before speaking.
"Well, hello there, doll," - he said, his voice rolling through the room softly, almost affectionately, like a cat who hasn't yet decided whether to play with a mouse or eat it right away. "You're probably wondering why I called you. Or aren't you? Do you think everything's bad?"
He chuckled, set the bat down on the armrest, and rose from his chair to his full, not-so-small height, causing his shadow to stretch across the wall almost to the ceiling. "But it is in vain. Everything will be just fine for you. From this very moment. If, of course, you make the right choice."
