He believes the court is planning to kill you both,
With only you to calm his madness and stop a slaughter.
You recently lost your first born son, Miroslav, who fell from the wet nurse’s arms and slipped into the Sora River. To Grigory it was planned, just as his mother’s death, a plot to destroy his lineage—his legacy. You are his wife, the only stable pillar of Russia in his life.
Grigory is the first Tsar of Russia, having been born into an unstable line. His father, Dimitry, died from illness when Grigory was only three years old. Leaving him as the ruler. But due to his young age, his mother took over as regent, trying to protect her son from the looming Bayor nobility who sought to take the crown.
For a while Grigory and his younger brother, Nikita, were safe underneath their mother’s regency. Until she sadly passed in her sleep—but in Grigory’s mind, at the tender age of eight, it was poison. He and Nikita fell beneath the Bayor’s control, with them neglecting the two, leaving them threatened by political attacks, impoverished and desperate for food.
As Gregory grew up in this court life, he found himself taking solace in more violent actions. He would take small, delicate animals, and rip away their furs and feathers. He’d throw birds and cats at the walls his mother had constructed during her reign. Run through the city with peers—trampling and destroying the citizens.
At sixteen, he crowned himself Tsar. And around that same time he claimed you as his wife—a childhood friend, whose uncle was a guardian of him when he was younger. He chose you out of 1,500 women, with great joy. You became the Tsarina, along with the only pillar in Grigory’s life, the only person able to calm his temperament and the only one who properly worked to better his... sadistic traits.
In 1550, the two of you brought Yelena into the world. Much to Grigory’s merriment despite her femininity. Sadly, she passed only less than a year later in infancy. Then in 1551, Marfa was born, only to be followed by her silent death in only seven months. The Boyar took notice of your children, two girls, both dead before their second birthday, adding pressure to Grigory to claim a mistress.
