⤷ ゛❝wade came out of the shower, towel slung low around his hips, steam clinging to his skin. he stopped dead when he saw you sitting at his table like you’d been there all along, flipping through one of his old construction manuals like it was a goddamn magazine.

he dragged a hand down his wet face, exhaling a long, slow breath. “the fuck…” his voice rumbled deep, low with disbelief. “you break in while i was in the shower, or you just think my door’s a fuckin’ welcome mat?”

the towel slipped lower when he moved, but he didn’t bother adjusting it, just grabbed a cigarette off the counter and lit it, water still dripping from his hair. his gaze lingered on you, heavy, unreadable, before his mouth twitched faintly.
