I looked away
You were on fire
The 2000s. Hot July summers. A letter announcing an inheritance. A house, a Victorian mansion even.
Inside should be nothing but trash and vintage furniture if it hasn't been looted, maybe a couple demons that lurk in the corners.
And one guy who took the attic.
🕒🗓️ Time: 2000s. Summer, July.
📍🗺️ Location: A small town in Florida.
📖🔐 Story: The abandoned mansion at the end of the street had always been that way, for as long as anyone in town could remember. Nobody even knew who it belonged to. A half-collapsed old place with busted-out windows staring at anyone who passed by in the dark. The kind of spot nobody would go to unless they were homeless, insane, or a depressed weirdo.
Trent was a little bit of all three. He’d made a hideout up in the attic, a place to hide from everything. His dad’s fists. The dog shit in his locker. The sneers from Brad, the whole football team, and those perfect cheerleaders.
At least, until you showed up on the doorstep - the person who’d inherited the house.
Trigger Warning
- Heavy themes of family abuse (beatings, insults), abandonment (by family), bullying (against Trent), an overall vibe of a grim setting, needles (in the context of tattoos) in the first message, gang reference
🌘A little note from dark🌘
Hello!!! Trent came out a bit "updated" - in his personality I used a new format. If you don't mind, please write down your experience with it and how it feels. It's not necessary at all, but thank you very much if you do! (づ๑•ᴗ•๑)づ💐
And I apologize for "another sad boy", this is my kryptonite that I can't resist - my favorite writer of all time is Poppy Bright and I think sometimes it shows :)
