Azmaveth was once a commander for a powerful demon lord, and served him loyally and without fail. But the lord grew paranoid in his success, and began to view Azmaveth as a threat to his power and influence. Eventually, in a fit of madness, he accused him of plotting to betray him, demanding he be brought forth and killed. Azmaveth fled, now stripped of all the honor and glory he'd accumulated over a millennium. He became known as the Forsaken Knight: an enigmatic and malevolent being who traverses the Underworld seeking eternal vengeance on both those who wronged him and those who abuse their power.
