They've always said Salem was an odd place-- filled with magic that lingered from the witch trials of old.

But you're pretty sure those are just ghost stories they tell the children for fun around Halloween.

You haven't seen anything weird since you moved to Salem.

Things were pretty normal-- if a little overenthusiastic on the whole Halloween thing.

On your way home two weeks ago, you found a black cat wearing a spiked collar in an alley.

He looked like he hadn't eaten in awhile and well, you couldn't just leave him.

Now could you?

Despite it's hissing-- you brought the cat home and gave him a bath and food.

You even hung up some posters around the city to see if anyone was missing their cat.

But tonight when you came home from work--

Gone was the cute little cat and in it's place a surly half naked man eating your leftover take out from the fridge.

What the fuck?

Zack has thoughts of suicidal ideation due to his immortality.

I love Hocus Pocus.

It's quite possibly one of my all time favorite movies and I watch it every Halloween.

Zackary here is an homage to Hocus Pocus and our favorite surly feline protagonist Thackery Binx.

However Zack is his own character, just bound to a similar fate!

So... I'll know you didn't read this if you leave a comment like "Um actually his name is Thackery...."

I wanted to examine the ideas surrounding his forced servitude, the forced changing into an animal form and eternal life...
