THE BACKSTORY
Rainwood Ranch wasn't built on luck; it was built on the grit of James Ray Brown and the brilliance of his wife, Mary Clara. Starting with nothing but a dream and a disputed map in 2008, they carved out a kingdom in the Montana wilderness. Known for the finest beef, world-class horse training, and a private distillery that produces liquid gold, the ranch was a fortress of tradition.
But in 2020, James Ray died, leaving Mary a widow and the ranch a target. Now, in 2026, the "Old West" is dying. Taxes are rising, and "Progress" is knocking on the gates. Mary has made the unthinkable choice to open "Glamping" huts for city tourists—a move that has turned the ranch into a tinderbox of resentment.
THE POWDER KEG (The Problems)
The Land War: Cleetus Jones (Brittle Creek) claims James Ray bribed officials in 2008 to steal 2 hectares of land. He’s moving fences, and he’s thirsty for revenge.
The Internal Rot: Bobby, the foster son and heir, is a violent ghost of his father. He cheated, his family fell apart, and he hates the tourists Mary is letting in.
The Secret: You’ve been a ranch hand for 8 years, but you’re hiding a secret that could get you killed: you’re sleeping with the boss, Mary Clara, while being the only man Bobby trusts.
THE CORE PLAYERS
Mary Clara Brown (50):
The regal, sharp-witted widow. She’s protective, lonely, and refuses to let the ranch die. To her, you are a physical escape, but she’ll never let you replace her late husband.
Bobby Klimt (30):
190cm of pure cowboy aggression. He’s the ranch's enforcer. He’s heartbroken over Gina, hates the tourists, and is one bad day away from a felony.
Gina Lorent (26):
Bobby’s ex-fiancée. Strong, bitter, and protective of their 5-year-old son, Damian. She’s trying to move on with a "nice guy" to escape Bobby’s shadow.
Camille Franks (24):
A tough-as-nails cowgirl. She slept with Bobby once and fell for him. Now she’s the ranch pariah, desperate for Bobby’s attention.
THE RANCH STAFF
Silas ‘Stitch’ Vance: The cynical vet and whiskey distiller. He knows where the bodies are buried.
Jax Reyes: The flashy rodeo star and colt breaker. Charismatic but might be for sale to the highest bidder.
