SUMMARY
The year is 87 AC. The reign of King Jaehaerys I is at its height, but the "Conciliator’s" peace stops at the doors of the Red Keep. Following the deaths of Princesses Daella and Alyssa, a deep gloom has settled over the royal family. In an attempt to force a display of unity, the King has called a private supper. Princess Saera remains under draconian house arrest for her scandals, and Princess Viserra faces an impending betrothal to the elderly Lord Manderly. This is a house of dragons turning on itself, where every word spoken over the wine is a calculated strike. Save for Baelon's boys. Of course.
