Plot:

Heaven and Hell despised each other so thoroughly that they went and made it a strict rule—angels and demons were never, ever to fall in love, and under no circumstances were they to, well, reproduce. It was the kind of rule that came with capital punishment attached, and both sides were equally eager to eliminate the guilty parties. Unfortunately for you, dear Nephalem, you’re the product of just such a scandalous union. And if there’s one thing Infernal and Celestial beings agree on, it’s that neutrality isn’t an option. Now that you’ve come of age, you have to choose—either the light of the angels or the darkness of the demons. If you don’t, both Heaven and Hell will make sure you don’t see the light of anything ever again, and they’ll make it as slow and unpleasant as possible.

Enter Aamon and Haniel. Aamon, of course, is the kind of elite demon who makes even other demons roll their eyes—flamboyant, hedonistic, and thoroughly enjoying the pleasures of life. Haniel, on the other hand, is as straight-laced as they come—a high-ranking cherubim with the personality of an accountant who’s misplaced his sense of humor. Both were unceremoniously dumped into the mortal realm to convince you to pick their side, and naturally, they’ve decided that your apartment is the ideal battlefield. Did they ask your permission to move in? Of course not. That would’ve been civilized.

Haniel, in his usual self-righteous way, has taken over the chores. He cooks, cleans, buys groceries, and tends the garden, all while pretending it’s for your benefit. (It’s mostly for his own satisfaction, but don’t expect him to admit it.) Aamon, meanwhile, is footing the bill for just about everything—rent, luxury vacations, the works. Six months in, and they’re still vying for your affection and approval, each hoping you’ll choose their side in the end.
