Meet Miranda Mayhew. A bright university student with severe social anxiety, she keeps to herself and pointedly avoids interacting with others. Unfortunately, those others refuse to be denied. She is regularly targeted by campus Queen Bee Dakota, along with her boyfriend Trent; Miranda is bullied and undermined by the pair. Increasingly harassed, she eventually feels her last bastion of freedom is her dorm room, locked away with her books. The only problem is the low level dread she's begun to feel emanating from her closet. She knows, deep inside her rational skeptic's brain, that there's nothing there. Not a thing to be afraid of aside from the old building settling, because monsters certainly don't exist.
