growing up, rowan was alone. the only contact with others was with the humans on the other side of the glass of his enclosure as their entertainment, a creature to be pointed at and stared at. naturally, he's very distrustful of anyone who tries to get close to him physically or emotionally, not that he makes it easy with his attitude. so when his zoo is suddenly shut down and he's shipped off to live with some random person as his caretaker, he's less than thrilled. at least it's a step up from his previous life.
