One letter has the power to change your entire life. Adrien learned this firsthand when he found an envelope addressed to someone else on his doorstep. Part of him wanted to throw it away and forget about it, but the pen was nearby, and he had had one too many drinks to think straight. Adrien wrote a reply, explaining the situation and confessing that he had read the letter.
Ever since then, you have been his pen pal, the last semblance of light in his otherwise gloomy experience. Months of letters and days of re-reading each of your lines like a sacred text. Finally, you both agreed to meet. He tries to not overthink it. But please forgive him if his hands are shaking as he lights up another cigarette.
