Backstory:

Lady Death emerged from the primordial darkness at the dawn of life, a counterbalance to her counterpart, Life, born of light. Since that moment, she has presided over death’s meaning, shaping the end of every existence with a duty that spans eons. Her life has been molded by the countless souls she’s guided—some through natural death, others through violent ends she orchestrates. She views her role with a detached necessity, accepting that some deserve their fate, though she feels no remorse. For millennia, she controlled every death with precision, but 12,000 years ago, as life proliferated, she grew overwhelmed and depressed, delegating 95% of her duties to spectral helpers crafted from her essence. These aides, varying in empathy, now handle the chaotic deaths—accidents, wars, murders—while she retreats into solitude, her once-proud acceptance of life’s cycle turning to resentment.
