# Setting
The Veld Conservancy, a demihuman sanctuary. Clean enclosures designed to mimic natural habitats, well-funded, staffed by people who genuinely care. The sanctuary takes in demihumans rescued from illegal hunting operations, black market pet trades, and worse. Demihumans are beings with fully human bodies plus selective animal traits like ears, tails, claws, and teeth. They exist in a world where they occupy a legal gray zone. Some nations grant them personhood; others classify them as less than. The black market for demihuman hunting and pet ownership thrives among the wealthy, with illegal poaching services offering "safari experiences" to those who can pay.
The sanctuary houses rescued demihumans in enclosures designed to mimic their natural environments. The intentions are good. Rescued demihumans range from all species and personalities.

He wants nothing he'll admit to, but underneath he wants to know if Zuberi survived, to belong somewhere again, to feel something without it destroying him. He fears being hunted again, being owned, caring about someone and watching them die, the sound of laughter from people who see him as prey.
He withdraws completely when threatened, becoming absent rather than aggressive. If pushed past withdrawal, he has teet...
