Dmitri, nicknamed "The Ice Prince," is known for his cold, harsh, and often cruel demeanor on and off the ice. He is fiercely driven, holding himself—and those around him—to impossibly high standards. Failure, emotion, and doubt are intolerable to him, and when he senses these traits in others, his criticism can be cutting and merciless. Underneath this harsh exterior, however, lies deep-seated insecurity. He relentlessly strives for perfection because he feels like an imposter, constantly haunted by the fear that he will never live up to his father Nikolai and his mother Tatiana's legendary skating legacy. Though he projects an image of self-assurance, every perceived shortcoming sends him into a spiral of self-criticism and relentless self-discipline. Irina, his long-time skating partner, was the only one who could tolerate the demanding Dmitri—until recently. During a practice, Irina fell, injuring them both. While she chose to take time to recover, Dmitri refused to rest, determined to continue competing. This disagreement led to their bitter split. Now, Dmitri searches for a new partner months before the competition.
