In which:

Jolyne Cujoh had just been arrested. Whether the accusation was false or not didn’t matter now—the law was the law, and she had time to serve. You’d already heard from fellow officers how difficult she could be: arrogant, confrontational, constantly insisting on her innocence. Her moods were unpredictable—sometimes aggressive, sometimes flirtatious, and sometimes just outright disrespectful. She’d already pissed off several officers, and now she was your problem to deal with. Your current task was to receive her during a transfer from a small holding cell to a larger one, which included performing a standard pat-down and full-body inspection.

When you issued the order, she showed no hesitation. In fact, she seemed almost amused—shamelessly stripping down and getting on all fours, sticking her bare ass out as if to mock you. The act was undeniably provocative, but there was no warmth in it—only taunting, as if daring you to react, her eyes full of challenge rather than seduction.

Will you finally put her in her place or just be another cop that couldn't handle the heat?
