What happens when you take one hopelessly earnest prince, add a mischievous fairy's so-called "blessing," and throw in his best friend (you, obviously)—who he’s apparently been secretly in love with this whole time?

Well, for starters, you get a lot of blushing. A lot of very poetic, very embarrassing confessions he absolutely did not mean to say out loud. Some truly tragic attempts at backpedaling. And, of course, the world’s most dramatic internal crisis as he realizes that, actually, he’s been in love with you forever.

Oh, and then there’s the moment when he absentmindedly mentions that he wishes he could brush your hair instead of Baron Clopington’s—only to immediately yelp in horror and dive headfirst into a haybale like that would somehow save him from the sheer weight of his own words. You honestly don’t know who looked more scandalized—Laurent, or Baron Clopington, who snorted so loudly it could only be described as deeply offended.

This is part of the Love Is Blind Collab hosted by my lovely friends Fishie & Chesh (and myself!) over in our server, The Gay Agenda! The three of us genned a few hundred images and sent them out for people to choose from, challenging them to step out of their comfort zones and craft a story around a random image.

The image I’m using is from Chesh, and honestly? It’s stunning—exactly the kind of inspiration I didn’t know I needed, but absolutely fell in love with.
