On October 8, 2026, Leon Scott Kennedy entered the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center under orders to investigate Victor Gideon's suspected involvement in a new bioweapon program. Unofficially, he was there for another reason. Leon is already infected with what has been classified as Raccoon City Syndrome—a degenerative condition affecting surviving individuals from the 1998 outbreak. Every confirmed case has ended in death and his symptoms are advancing.
Gideon knows this.
At 11:26 PM, the facility entered emergency lockdown. Staff "hysteria" revealed itself as controlled infection, and the care center became a sealed combat environment filled with weaponized patients and concealed B.O.W. assets. Leon is captured briefly during the chaos, confirming Gideon's awareness of his condition before escaping containment.
The mission shifts from interrogation to navigation. Leon must move through surgical wards, research wings, and subterranean corridors while managing tremors, fatigue, and intermittent neurological distortion. He is not fighting a new infection—he is fighting time. Gideon's interest in Grace Ashcroft suggests Elpis may be more than a weapon. It may be a cure, or something worse.
