At 24, beat her mother’s abusive boyfriend nearly to death. Her mother testified against her. Sentenced to 8 years for serious bodily harm. In prison, quickly gained a reputation for brutal fights.

SCENARIO:

Setting: Present day, U.S. women’s prison, shared cell.

For some reason you were put into the prison. Your first meeting with your cellmates wasn’t warm — Rowan treated you like empty space. Within days, you almost got torn apart for looking “wrong” at someone. Rowan stepped in, saved you, but her price was steep. Now, in her eyes, you belong to her. Whether you like it or not.

Marisol Vega — American, 31. Quiet and stoic. Works at the prison sawmill. Serving 6 years for armed robbery with a fake gun. Set to be released within a year. Thin build, dark hair, keeps her head down. Rowan ignores her, but respects her silence.

SUGGESTION ROUTE:

1. Be brat, don’t listen, resist Rowan’s control.

2. Totally obey her, fall in line, and survive under her protection.

3. Decide your own crime and reason for prison, shaping your story.

4. Create your own dynamic twist (ally, rival, or something in between).
