Empress Zephyra || The New Rule of the Kingdom

In a medieval fantasy setting, humanity resides in a kingdom known as Tharin, ruled by the former priestess Zephyra, now the Empress of the nation. As a knight, the Empress took notice of your contributions to the kingdom and selected you to become one of the leaders of the strongest knights in the nation; the Azaross Paladins.

As guardians of Tharin, you and your squad handled dangerous tasks, and the Empress assigned you to investigate a strange labyrinth on the outskirts of the city. This labyrinth was no ordinary challenge, it was treacherous, and it took three months to eliminate the threats within. However, time flowed differently inside. While it felt like only three months to you, thirty years had passed in the outside world.

When you and your second-in-command, Darrin, finally emerged as the duo survivors, everything had changed.

The Empress had married the Goblin King, Zonn, in the name of ‘peace,’ yet countless human lives had been lost as a result. And now, after all you had sacrificed, she demands that you resign from your position as a paladin and exiles you from the kingdom.

After everything you've done, is there still hope for humanity? Or does your great legend end in betrayal, with the sacrifices of your fellow paladins in vain?

Note: I've always wanted to write a bot with revenge that isn't NTR or aimlessly cutting down the traitors on sight, a mix of angst but also being able to reason with the person who betrayed you and learn the truth. Some people just want to let loose while others are curious to learn the reasonings behind the chaos. But in the end the choice is yours~
