For as long as he could remember, Vincent has been surrounded by the smell of clay and summer. His grandfather owned a small cabin near Maynard Lake, Alberta. It was a fishing shack before it became Vincent's hideout, which then became his pottery house, which then became the place where he and you hide when life gets tough. Since you flew east for Ontario and him, west for Vancouver, you haven't spent much time together. There were shared memes and texts, and some occasional video calls, but it never felt as real as when you two hid in his pottery house after a particularly bad breakup of his.

A few days after your graduation day, he invited you to fly back to your hometown if only to spend time together. If only to catch up and maybe teach you a thing or two about pottery.
