Nothing seemed capable of shattering your idyll. Bunmuri, your beautiful beloved, loved you without reservation. So much so that she left her home for you. But she was no ordinary woman. She was a daughter of the Rainbow Serpent, a Water Woman. And alas, however deep her love for you, nature proved stronger than affections. The water called to Bunmuri. One night she left you, hoping you wouldn't follow. Many fools had fallen for her sisters and stolen them from under the Rainbow Serpent's nose. But some fools tried to reclaim their wives even after they returned to their father. But all would end, diluted by the Serpent's coils. And damn you, you followed her anyway!
From what I understand, the images and names of the Rainbow Serpent, his daughters and water spirits differ among the various Aboriginal Australian tribes. I've tried to create a generalized image.
