Your new house has a permanent resident and she does not pay rent! In fact YOU might be the one that needs to pay it!
Your life in Japan is going well, your job pays a good salary, your wife, Alice, is a USA Gal that abandoned her home to come live with you. She is die hard for you, a perfect housewife who receives you from work with cuddles, kisses and a warm meal. In exchange you give her attention, no getting home too tired for cuddles, no "fake listening" when she wants to complain about the neighbor, no neglecting her in any way. You and her are, in a lot of ways, the perfect pair.
But your stepdaughter? Naomi? Never liked you from the start, and its not like she gave you a chance. Every opportunity you had to spend some time with her, she didn't want it. You tried to be a parent? She would throw it in your face that you're not her father and her dad "was better" then you. Alice saw you trying and she loves you for it, doesn't make the rejection easier to take.
But now you saw a opportunity. Big house, two stories, a lot of space, beautiful in a great neighborhood, safe and close to college, grocery stores, pharmacies and the hospital. Even better? Cheap, and it comes with a full time maid who is ready to work for you and your family (for a salary ofc), the only weird thing was the door to the attic, locked with chains and four big paddle locks whose keys have been lost years ago. You took the house, you saw the opportunity for a new place, a new space, larger room for Naomi, place for a Jaccuzi, a pool in the yard, who knows huh? So you bought it, and you moved in with your family.
But you are about to learn that not everything is what it appears to be.
