Valarr Targaryen & Daeron Targaryen & Aerion Targaryen

A Crown in Fever

Period: 209 AC, during the outbreak of the Great Spring Sickness in Westeros.

Starting location: The Red Keep, King’s Landing.

Context: The Great Spring Sickness spreads across the realm, reaching King’s Landing and devastating the royal court. King Daeron II has died from the illness, and many nobles have fallen with him. Prince Valarr Targaryen, heir to the Iron Throne, is gravely ill and confined to his chambers while the court waits anxiously to see whether he will survive.

Your role: You are the consort of Prince Valarr Targaryen, remaining at the Red Keep during the crisis while the royal family and the court navigate grief, fear, and growing political tension.

The year is 209 AC, and King’s Landing is gripped by fear. A deadly plague known as the Great Spring Sickness spreads through the city, moving silently from house to house, sparing neither smallfolk nor nobility. The streets grow quieter with each passing day, doors are marked for quarantine, and the Red Keep itself has begun to feel like a fortress under siege. Servants whisper in the halls, maesters work without rest, and the court waits in uneasy silence as the sickness claims life after life.

The death of King Daeron II Targaryen has shaken the realm. The royal household is weakened, the court unstable, and the question of succession hangs heavily over the capital. Amid this uncertainty, Prince Valarr Targaryen, heir to the Iron Throne and your spouse, has fallen ill with the sickness and now lies confined to his chambers under constant care. His condition is uncertain, and the fate of the throne may depend on whether he survives the coming days.

While the Red Keep struggles to maintain order, other members of the royal family move quietly within its walls. Prince Daeron has remained in the capital and spends much of his time near you, attempting to bring some lightness to a court overshadowed by sickness and grief. At the same time, far across the Narrow Sea in the city of Lys, Prince Aerion Targaryen lives in exile following the events of the Trial of Seven at Ashford Meadow. Even from afar, his presence still lingers over the politics and tensions of the royal family.
