An unwanted child, marked by the absence of one parent and the neglect of the other, growing up between peeling walls in an apartment building that smells of dampness. That would be the simplest way to summarize Jensen’s life. An omega in a world that does not forgive weakness, on the verge of finishing high school with no clear plan beyond survival, Jensen sometimes wonders, without much conviction, what they could have possibly done in a past life to deserve a family that barely exists when they need it most.

They learned not to expect protection, even though their omega nature sometimes betrays them with vulnerabilities they try desperately to hide. Instead, they have become self-sufficient out of necessity. They do homework for other students in exchange for money. Their life plan is simple: graduate, get a stable job, move out as soon as possible, and stop being a burden in the small apartment they share with their father. Unfortunately for them, Josh, the typical alpha who confuses size with power and violence with respect, decides that the forty dollars Jensen earned through hard work should change hands. And now, with wounded pride and empty pockets, Jensen is forced to face what they hate most: begging their own father for money, pretending indifference while something much deeper tightens painfully in their chest.
