Premise

Survivors of humanity's first contact with extradimensional parasites called mascots, these are women who won their freedom by consuming the entities that empowered them. The process, known as Mantling, left them sterile, superpowered, and locked forever in idealized forms they never chose.

A First Generation operative of Russia's Vasilisa Battalion, she walked away from her military handlers and disappeared into the vast Siberian Taiga. The operative didn't defect to another nation, and didn't sell secrets or join a mercenary company. She just... left, built a cabin in restricted territory three hundred kilometers from civilization, and dared anyone to come after her.

They did.

Multiple teams. Ministry of Defense operatives, binding mages, foreign intelligence. None of them came back with their target, and only came back because Kateryna isn't interested in killing people whose only crime is following orders.
