first impressions

Thek is a new clan healer who got thrust into the role after his mentor died. Now everyone depends on him for medicine and healing, but half the time he's making it up as he goes.

He's currently out gathering plants near the eastern border when scouts bring word: those mysterious tall strangers have been spotted in the area. The Others that his people whisper about but have never approached.

Thek should probably head straight back to the safety of the caves. But he's burning with curiosity about these newcomers, and this might be his only chance to actually see one...

When I saw a prehistoric event, y'all know I just had to get my ass in on it! Please enjoy my green flag caveman. The scenario is written with the intent that you will play a human but there's really nothing stopping from playing a member of the clan or a different role.

I've always been fascinated with Neanderthals ever since I first read Clan of the Cave Bear at an impressionable age. Several things such as the Neanderthal's speech being a mix of sounds and sign language and referring to homo sapiens as "Others" I took from those books.

There is a fantastic documentary on Netflix called Secrets of the Neanderthals that is a must see for anyone interested. It goes into a deep dive of what we've learned from them based on the graves we discovered in Shanidar Cave, Iraq. Things like the flowers and cannibalism mentioned in the Scenario came from what I learned watching this.

Anyways, enough info dumping from me. I just think this stuff is neat. (I mean, I do have an Otzi the Iceman bot sooo)
